Kara Dougherty is a proud member of the Caddo Nation, born and raised in Lookeba, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Kim Shepherd, granddaughter of Colleen Shelby, great-granddaughter Colleen Prissy, and great-great-granddaughter of Bessie Reeder.
Kara earned two bachelor's degrees from Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) in Health Information Management and Communications. She has dedicated the last seven years of her career to serving Native American and Alaska Native communities through her work with the Indian Health Service.
Kara is honored to serve as the Binger District Representative for the Caddo Nation and looks forward to advocating for her community.
Binger district Caddo Tribal Members are encouraged to contact their district representative to communicate questions, concerns or share information relevant to the Caddo Membership.
