The Caddo Nation Media and Marketing Department serves as a lifeline of communication for over seven thousand tribal members, as well as our local community and state partners and interested parties. The department serves as more than just an information outlet. Through coverage of traditional practices, language preservation efforts, and community gatherings, the department works to celebrate and strengthen Caddo cultural identity for current and future generations. The Caddo Nation Media & Marketing Department provides tribal citizens with a source for official information and maintains a level of professionalism and positivity to uplift our community, reduce the spread of misinformation in the absence of official channels and increase community engagement and participation in tribal programs and cultural events. The team operates with efficiency, managing multiple communication platforms and providing department support with a lean staff to maintain strong, reliable communication channels for a sovereign nation of over 7,000 members as it directly relates to governance. The mission of the media branch is to create transparency in governance, keep members informed, increase visibility for the Caddo Nation and to continue to build a community and maintain community cohesion regardless of the distance from home for tribal citizens through continued coverage of cultural events and tribal news.
The Media and Marketing team maintain, updat and manage the official Caddo Nation website, which serves as the digital hub for tribal governance, providing real-time updates on essential services, program announcements, and emergency notifications. This platform is often the first point of contact for members seeking information about healthcare services, housing programs, educational opportunities, and other vital resources.
The media department manages multiple crucial communication channels that serve as the primary information conduits for tribal members. The team manages the Caddo Nation presence on social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram.
The Caddo Nation team produce content for the tribe's dedicated news website and Caddo Nation newspaper, “Yo, Hasinai!” which features articles on topics such as tribal affairs, news from Caddo Nation headquarters, messaging from Leadership, Community, Arts, Culture and History, Economic Development, ads for Caddo Nation businesses and features photo galleries of Caddo events.
The traditional print newspaper is particularly crucial for members who rely on traditional print media for their information needs.
The team provides graphic design support for tribal departments, Caddo businesses and website design.
The Media and Marketing team also provides graphic design and back end website support for tribal owned businesses, McKee’s Indian Store and George’s Department Store.
